D Day for Alex

Dental today and Alex went to school for the first half to try keep her busy and keep the stress away,  I also worked in tuck-shop this morning, she had 2 teeth pulled after lunch  and we had to go to another clinic as they had no stitches and she needed 2 so we went to the Ipswich dental clinic and they thought she was so brave as they have adults that react worse than she did

home and she is experiencing pain so another dose of panadol to keep her comfy and a soft food dinner  Robyn wants McDonald's so Alex will get a sundae and custard when  she gets home ♥  me and Daddy-ho will have Chinese it has been one very stressful week and I am so glad it is all over for this month with the Rel;ay and camp to look forward too ♥

we also got call back about Relay for life and this year Alex is no longer the youngest walked at the survivors walk ( this doesn't bother me ) but knowing how many children have to go through all this is what upsets me :(
I was sad at hearing a 4 year old was walking this year ( Alex was 4 at Diagnosis ♥)

Logan's Run Bracelet for Robyn from Tooth fairy for being good at the dentist she has not yet lost a tooth but needs her broken one out soon, they called back yesterday and I have to try get her to wiggle it and hopefully it will come out that way and if not we have to have it removed mid April as it is infection the bone etc and has also a abscess under the tooth :(

Still waiting on dental

Today Alex had her second dental appointment this month.
We had to do a rush visit to the doctors for a second scrips off antibiotics for the abscess as it had not gone down but got larger since last weeks appointment.

Today she was suppose to have the tooth deadened sounded like a root canal to me!
We get there early and straight in, after a quick check I am told No we need more antibiotics something stronger to fight this infection harder, then the dentist told me they will now pull both teeth as they have a slight shadow and could be sign of infection and do not want to cause future damage to her adult teeth.
So they start looking at dates to do this and two weeks was the date but Alex has scans and oncology visits that day so they look at next week. Cool I can re schedule Robyn's appointment.
They could not get through to male this appointment so we get told I will get a call with time, date and where we have to go. Alex went to school at lunch time and is a little tired but she is doing well.
I got call Alex's appointment and it's the week she has the scans and doctor's appointment, so two day away from school, but now I just need to keep an eye on her pain and stop her eating on that side, all I want to do is take it all away she has seen to much pain in her short life.
Both girls have been so good today

Me scanxiety is kicking in and I still have 2 week to go til the scans and I will take it like a trooper that Alex is and stand strong. This is our new normal scan time will trigger the worst images and thoughts but once I hear all stable it's such a large load off my shoulders

A small hick up

We have been enjoying the QLD summer where it rains most afternoons.
On Sunday Alex got a tooth ache on both sides the left was the slightly loose baby tooth pushing out due to the new tooth cutting through next to it. The other side was where she had one capped and one with a filling this one caused mayor pain and she was crying out all night, she has had 15 months since the last issue with her teeth
Then Monday it was bad so I called the school dental and waited to see what next. I got a call back and was told dr's to get antibiotics and they got Alex in the next day. So turns out another absus so I stressed thinking tooth pulled and more issues later. Buy Tuesday's appointment I find out her teeth are good but they will be deadening the nerve so the tooth doesn't cause issues and not need pulling and the adult teeth below are looking healthy,

Just a small hick up but we are still moving forward, I do worry though as when Alex is sick Robyn has to be too even though she is healthy. I am stuck as to how to deal with this,

dental check up for 2011

last year Alex had issues with her teeth and lost 3 ( one was wobbly) and had 2 capped and another filled but we will always have issues with her teeth so it is best to keep on top of it now so she had another check up today at the school dental :)  now she is getting her adult teeth we really need to be aware of what is ahead ( we hope to be lucky but so far no), todays Check-Up went very well with no cavities :D and the only issue was a fill in as part had fallen out from last years ( so no needles etc hehe an easy treatment for us all)  they also have given us some GC Tooth Mouse for Alex to use after any high acidic drinks etc to help her teeth enamel fight back so this will go on every night plus any time she has orange juice or lemonade etc to prevent the softening of the enamel.

she has been good with everything that gets thrown at her a big 6 year old now she defiantly is... But we also have the issue she has a strong pain thresh hold so when she is hurt it can be worse than it looks to the outside, but when she sleeps it falls apart  she has been like this right through chemo and radiation would not complain and when she went down hill it was fast as she fought the pain and just wanted to have fun etc ♥

Got notification that the Mayor will not make the shave on Friday but I had sort of guessed he would be busy as well he is the Mayor, but we will have Cr Cheryl Bromage the local member join us and she will be representing the mayors office too :)
