5 Years out of Treatment

well we are now in 2015 and miss Alex has hit the magic 5 years out from treatment so we can officially say REMISSION :)
she is now seeing a renal specialist due to above normal creatinine levels and they have fluctuated up and back to the above normal levels so we now are being monitored for her kidney functions ( about time as we hit the 5 years with out a renal visit) Alex also suffers from Neuropathy and her calf muscles are causing issues that may lead us to casts on her legs to stretch them and at 10 she is growing so that shortens them even more but at this point is stretching exercises that we hope can help and maybe skip the casts
she also now suffers migraines so we will see a neurologist about controlling them and keeping her comfortable,
but all in all she is growing into a beautiful Young Lady at now 10 1/2 she is smart and a true advocate for Childhood Cancer
below  are some photos from our fun day with Camp Quality this month just before Alex's little sisters 8th  birthday at Bounce Australia

we have scans in March and should see us go onto yearly scans and oncology visits, even with renal every 3-6 months plus ortho and neuro  its getting better
will post some more photos soon and update after march next lot of scans and appointments

Happy and Sad all in one day

the sad part of today:-
Today would be my Fathers 72nd Birthday if he was not taken by the River Murray in June 2009 i think it was worse for us as Alex was in the middle of her 4 weeks Radiation at the time so I am Wishing him a Happy Birthday up in heaven ♥ we miss you dad and you never got to meet Robyn only talk to her on the phone, the girls always ask about their granddad and say they miss you ♥
Alex at 7 months with her granddad 2005
My dad shaved his head when Alex lost her hair ♥ 2009
I took Alex down to Adelaide when she was young to meet the family but Robyn never got that chance til my dad's Funeral we just never had the funds :,(
also yesterday is the 1st anniversary  of QLD floods hitting here in Ipswich today marks the day it hit us and it is so hard to look back on it all, I feel so sad for everyone effected but I am thankful we had no issues as we have enough to deal with,
Robyn got to sit in a helicopter at the flood time Jan 2011

Happy Camping to look forward too

so far we have missed out on camps last year and the year before one due to late registration and as so many have been on the list and well it looks like 2011 is going to be a fun one already, we just got notification to attend our First Camp Quality Camp soon and we are now just hoping school and pre-school do not expose us to anything which will cancel these events as well, like the 3 Christmas parties cancelled due to 2 chicken pox exposures, but I could never expose a sick child so I did what I would like others to do if we were still on the treatment side.

the girls are also on the list for their first 4-8 years camp so hope they like the time away from Mum and dad for 2 nights I am scared about this but think it will be good for them and us we do not get me time very often but do miss them when they are not with us ♥♥♥

ஜ۩۞۩ஜ ....HAPPY NEW ÝEAR ....٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶ ஜ۩۞۩ஜ ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸❤¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸❤¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪

My last post for 2010 and wishing everyone a Happy New year hope you all have a wonderful 2011

This last week was a slow one which is good as on the 5th Jan we have another scan and Dr trip I am trying to not think about over the festive time, with little luck. Alex has a big lump on her lower leg looks like a bite but is very sore and itchy so will be watching it to see that it goes down not up. has not stopped her from running around like a mad person, I am so happy to see her back to a healthy 6 year old enjoying life.
Christmas was good quiet but good, I did finally miss dad as last year I was so busy with everything with Alex its like this Christmas is the first but it is the second :(  have been crying over the smallest things too

On Wednesday we had another Christmas night with a family from Alex's school nothing big but nice for the girls to get out and hubby to have a drink or 6 lol, we also got given a DS for Robyn's Birthday in 23 days can not believe she will be 4 so soon.

Thursday morning was a shocker I found Rainbow Chicken Crowing ( well croaking ) but we now know he is a boy and we can not keep him for much longer so we found a hatchery near by that we can get 2 more black chicks for the girls and when they are old enough to stay outside Lee-lee will still have company and Rainbow will be re-homed. Alex will be calling the new one Rainbow 2 lol bet they both get rainbow something, but these will be 90% female and one day old so tiny chicks again for us to deal with ♥

New Years Eve will be quiet like normal, we watched the fireworks on TV at 9pm the girls stayed up for them Robyn crashed before they finished and Alex was in bed just after ♥ :) but hope the new year brings new adventures of the good kind and family fun ♥

Robyn with Leelee 28th Dec, poor Lee-lee is always being carried around
Alex and Robyn with Lee-lee and Rainbow. 28th Dec 2010

bad news is Rainbow is a boy but still waiting on him to really crow properly the pathetic attempt will be recorded soon, soon its Bye bye Boy we are getting 2 more one day olds chicks next week so they will be old enough to keep Lee-lee company before Rainbow leaves I hope.

Fun times ahead for the family ♥

Dr's Appointment went well yesterday Alex had bloods but was through a finger prick she so hates them ARGH but on the 13th we will get it done through port as she also is having a CT scan and needs to be accessed.
the Dr was happy with her but not with her weight a small loss since the tube has come out :( but she is trying to eat more but in saying that is also burning it off with running around like a 5 yr old lol

ok well not much else happening here am off to Movie world this weekend for the day so that should be fun and its New Years eve soon too  we are off to a friends for a couple of hours then home with Friends dropping around the next day for a BBQ lunch :)
