De Port Surgery

on Tuesday it was our 7th wedding anniversary we have been together for 11 years now but got married around the same time I found out I was expecting Alex :) ♥ we also left our home state 4 weeks after this so had no family support since Dec 2003 but we do have wonderful friends and family even over the distance ♥♥♥

Wednesday Alex stayed home with me while Miss Robyn went to pre-school. The pre-school only closes for one week so she will keep going every Wednesday and Alex gets some one on one with Mummy ♥ we don't get this often now she is in school, Alex has also been very well this week (this is good as  we wanted the fever and any sickness gone before surgery) I also got stung by a wasp at the letterbox so now trying to keep the girls away from the mailbox in-case they get stung too :(

on Thursday we found 2 nests in the letterbox so as someone else got stung to we removed the nests as they are aggressive to anyone getting close and growing in numbers so Bye Bye wasps and nest

Alex went in today at the Westley Private Hospital for day surgery to have the Port-a-cath removed. We have the joy of being under the same surgeon that put the port in as well as did her Kidney (Radical nephrectomy) surgery. He is a specialist and we have private health insurance that we decided to use so has been good to know who is doing these surgeries etc (not her teeth though) Hubby stayed home with Miss Robyn due to this being a private hospital and we did not know if they had a play ground or not so better to keep a 3 year old entertained at Home. Alex had to fast from 4am and no fluids from 7am we had to be there by 7am to start the day.

we finally arrived with 30 min to spare and find our way around the warren that is the Wesley hospital. the staff where wonderful too. I found out after Alex was in surgery that they had 5 with port removals but Alex was the only one with a full head of hair the others had only just finished treatment they did ask why we had a 12 month wait but then reading her notes said its due to the tumors and wanting to be sure they are stable or dead cells.

we got out late again but that is because Alex slept off the gas, but she was hungry when she woke up and ate a little bit of sandwich some apple juice and then a cup of ice cream ♥♥
we left at about 2.20pm grabbed a strawberry milk and Iced Latte for us and drove out Alex was due panadol but would be better to wait til we arrived at home. the road was extreamly busy and we soon found out why a major accident was blocking all traffic from the other direction and police where directing our lanes through.
got home and now trying to stay relaxed and pain free for Miss Alex but hard when you have a 3 year old sister that has missed us all day and wants attention♥♥   "we missed you to Robyn"

this is for everyone that needs it as well as My Princess ♥

Waiting in her surgical gown and Hungry
her award from the staff ♥
Sleeping off the gas even Elliot the dog has her paw wrapped up
Ice-cream and head home soon
The tape if it bleeds any more we are off to the DEM

Home sweet Home and hope this is the ;last surgery for my Princess♥ 4 in 21 months so far
