"One Of Those Lives"

"One Of Those Lives"By: Brad Paisley

Rush hour traffic,Always puts me in a bad mood.I got chewed out by the boss today,And now I'm stuck on highway 92.Then you call me on my cell phone,
While I'm cussin' out a Cadillac.
You say remember Tom and Jenny's little boy?
Well, the doctors say the cancer's back.

Man its been one of those days,
When I been thinking poor me.
I got no right to complain I guess,
Cause right now all I can see.

Is a little angel in a Yankees cap,
It makes me realize.
It's just been one those days for me,
But for him it's been one of those lives.

Everybody under my roof,
Is healthy- knock on wood.
Oh but I sure do sweat the small stuff,
I don't thank God as much as I should.

Tonight I'm thinking about Tommy and Jenny,
And how they spent the last four years.
All those extended stays in Memphis,
All the sleepless nights, the prayers, the tears.

It's just been one of those days,
Where I was thinking poor me.
I got no right to complain I guess,
Cause right now all I can see.

Is that family moving back to Target House,
It makes me realize.
It's just been one those days for me,
But for them its been one of those lives.

And so it's been one of those days,
I let things get to me.
I got no right to complain,
Cause when I look around I see.

Folks that are fightin' for every breath,
And it makes me realize.
It's just been one for those days for me,
But for them it's been one of those lives

School excursion for Alex

today Alex went on excursion and she wanted me to go to as alot of the parents went today, but as we get paid tomorrow I could not :( even though she was upset she had a great day with her class mates, prep to grade 3 they went to a zoo and got to see lots of animals.

last Friday Alex got her flu shot and I got my results, all is good but I have low blood counts and low iron  now need more tests to see why I am anaemic, but they have to wait, we had a 4 hour wait this arvo due to being bumped but the last one to bump us was a baby coughing who I would have volunteered to step back for this child, they should have gone straight to emergence as she could not breath when she was coughing, I hope she is ok ♥

Alex got upset when it came to needle time and they did a gentleman before us she was screaming by her turn so the nurse did it quick. all good we get to go home for dinner and then bed. On Monday morning while I was talking to the Councillor i get a call from the medical centre and this is a first scared its about my results but No its about Alex who they gave the wrong Vaccination to on Friday. OMG off all the people they stuffed hers up :(  so I had to take her back in that afternoon, The Dr had wrote the correct script but the nurse was in a hurry to go home Grrr, Alex was a trooper and cried and was upset but she was calmer than on the Friday, The Dr was so sorry about the mistake and lucky it was a shot that would not cause any issues ( either whooping cough or Chicken pox vaccination )  Alex has her standard bark (cough) back again and no other issues I am not worried as the chest X-Ray was clear too and she has had this cough since the start of treatment  on and off for nine months of the year, if she gets a temp we see the Dr to fight it more.

Scan day again

yesterday Alex had her Dr's Visit and Ultra sound and Chest X-Ray all was still stable with a slight change they will monitor at next scan but the think its just movement by her.

we all got up at 5am and it was another cool morning and was also the fires day of winter, as I backed out of the driveway I could see a Beautiful Rainbow ( Alex loves rainbows so we take them as a good sign :)

we arrived at the imaging department and signed in to wait out the 2 scans. the room was already busy as Wednesday is bone day for breaks etc so most are there for X-Rays. Alex started reading and Playing while we waited her turn which was not to long,
we get called in for the Ultrasound and Alex is always calm and relaxed, the sonigripher was new so could not find the mass near her aorta and reanal arteries but they did in the end, by now Alex was starting to fidget as she was hungry and we still had the X-Ray to go.
the scan was good a slight change but not enough to worry them and will be checked at next scan anyway

we head back out to wait to be called for the X-Ray and the room is even more full with children :( but still was not a long wait so we head down to get her scan done and she was great like normal.

she did stand hugging the machine for the scan though
after this was all done we headed down to the cafeteria for some food as she wanted a Turkish delight her treat all the way through treatment and the only chocolate she would eat at the time, but they shop had none :( so she got a kit-kat and chocolate milk with some hot chips, we ate some and then as had some time to spare went into the Wonder Factory this place is great the children get to play games etc and can borrow things to use on ward. the girls loved seeing Alex and how much she has improved so was nice to hear these complements as we have seen it in slow motion from the start and she is still our beautiful Princess.

finally it was time to head up to Banksia out-patience for the Dr Alex did not want to leave but we would have a wait any way so she took her picture and we headed up to the clinic and she got to sit with the school and do some work, they weighed her and she has lost a small amount but they think its due to weather getting cooler and her activity getting higher :) but she is doing well, Alex also got her Bravery Beads these are given at each treatment but as this started after Alex was finished we had to wait and It was worth it to see her face, she didnt get them all but we should be able to get them at a latter date as they had low stocks. no blood transfusion or birthday ones so no big deal,

last week Alex's school had their Book-fair so here is Alex as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

now we are on 3 monthly dr Visits and scans and the next one is another Ultrasound and X-Ray so less radiation for Alex. the Dr is very happy with her so I am Happy and really wanting to grab this and enjoy everything we have.
