steam Train Museum day 2011

well its that time of year again when the local train museum has an open day and us locals get free entry :) makes for a cheapish day out with the family and a photo fun time too :)

both girls love trains so think I should look at a train ride for us soon

the day started out bucketing down with rain and I was not feeling well so we sort of waited with the hope it would calm down or make another day and pay to go, but by lunch time it was still raining and everyone decided we would go even in the rain, once there the rain stopped and we had a great afternoon

Dora day with Camp Quality

11th was the day the tickets arrived at our house :) the girls started counting down to the show.

yesterday the 17th Alex had a holiday from school for the EKKA we don't go to many people to share germs with :p plus just to full on and no parking etc. we have seen how bad it is when going to RCH as they still use hospital parking even though they could be fined as signs are all over saying No EKKA parking oh well at least we don't go in every week now so don't stress about parking as much now.
we did go to the shops where some rides were.

August the 18th (Today)we had the Dora show up at Toowoomba and a nice drive with a nice show to enjoy, it rained on the way up and was sunny on way home Robyn slept most of the way home :)  we originally were going to stay but used the money to get the fridge fixed :) and drove home that afternoon, we enjoy the day plus went to our first giggles network catch up, as they are either in the coast or Brisbane we sort of always miss out but as we decided to do this day up at Toowoomba we got to do this one, was nice to see a few families but Robyn started getting cranky so we decided to head home after 1pm.

Robyn got sick on the start of the month and the school had chicken pox run through the school again lucky for us that neither girls got it as Robyn being on steroids she was high risk for them and would be a bad bout too :( Robyn's final diagnosis was Bronchitis and Croup she is doing great. Alex had the week off like I said before but she enjoyed going back to school even with the cough that doesn't want to go away :( is still hanging around 2 years now on and off.

we got a call from a good friend of the family and Hubbies Best mate in SA to say he was planing a visit early next month so now both Girls are excited to see him, he is also Robyn's Godfather :) the last time we got to see him was 2 years ago when Alex was very sick but she still kicked his butt at Wii hehe and both girls are really looking forward to seeing him again

edited to add this photo as I finally got the printer to work and needed to scan this, its the green screen photo from the Dora show.

~ ♥Robyn's rough week ♥ ~

this last week we finally get Alex good enough to go back to school, where now there are 7 counts of Chicken pox :-/  on Monday Robyn had a cold so I stayed home with her by Wednesday she was feverish and I kept her home from Pre-school. she was ok most of the day so thought it would be a viral infection that would not need anything, Wednesday night she had a few severe coughing fits where she was gasping for breath so she went to the Dr on Thursday and I fearing the worst (whooping cough) get told she has Croup which can be worse as she could stop breathing plus Bronchitis so she gets put on a course of anti-biotic's as well as steroids for 3 days to clear it up. I was also advised any worse attacks to call 000 ASAP as it is life threatening :o  the Dr did a swab for whooping cough as well to rule it out but they where quiet positive it was not that as both girls are fully immunized, I had to take Robyn back today for the swab results and  so she could be checked to see if she was getting better, she is better but its a slow process so now on new anti-biotic's and an antihistamine, more money spent but all I want is her healthy, so small steps forward

On one good Note Alex still has her cough but she is well, I now have a cold to as the girls love sharing hehe but I to will soldier on :)

the small things that make my day are seeing my girls play happily and always looking out for each other, I am a blessed Mother to have them and am thankful for every day we get, as I see so many on this road that have it harder than we did and a couple that got it easier, that being said we are all cancer mums and we all feel the same fears what ever was done, we never know what tomorrow holds but all pray that these special children stay strong and grow up healthy and happy as possible.

hug your loved ones close and enjoy what you have

colds and flu's

Alex had her cough last week so bad she missed 4 days from school I was up all night with her as she was gagging but the Dr's still said nothing was wrong other than an annoying cough. over the weekend the girls received their new bikes too and spent some nice play time outside in the warm winter sunshine Alex was well enough to go to school today and her UTI has cleared up :) so that is a good note, Robyn now has the cough and not well at all.

found out we have Swine Flu, Chicken pox and whooping cough going around at the moment in this area, think and pray we will be ok as Alex has Camp Quality day coming up soon for a Dora the explorer show and I want her healthy so we do not put anyone else at risk.

here are a couple of photos of the weekend with the bikes

Robyn's new pink Bike next to Alex's Bike she now can wait to grow into
Alex's first bike then Robyn's this one need some TLC, like a new seat, its worn and the hand break cable broke with the weather so we are giving it away to someone that can use it
