Halloween 2011

last week Alex had a bad week she was unsettled and emotional, the smallest thing set her off so I was on watch as so many things going around the school and well the town by Thursday she was not wanting to go to school and she never wants to miss school even when sick so I kept her home that day, they played quietly so I just watched her. she was feeling a bit better that afternoon so I allowed swimming lessons to go ahead as she does love swimming, Robyn may be moving up to Alex's level soon too :)

Thursday I also stick my nose into the books and did some studies slowly getting through the first part which I also have RPL (recognised Prior learning for admin side) I sat 2 tests and passed them but they are the small part before the final test and the end of the module.

on the weekend we didn't do much just set up for Halloween which is not an Australian tradition but looks like it is taking hold. Hubby made some tomb stones for out the front I set up the spider web and spiders on monday and then went trick or treating Monday afternoon

the girls are very impatient for today to arrive,
we have been slowly stocking up on sweets and made chocolates for the girls :)
Alex and Robyn both dressed as witches and I wore the dress I had Made for a fancy Dress party last year as it is well made and different :)

Daddy had his mask from last post photo
we had 3 trick-or-treater's even before we left so hope all is OK while we are out
had 3 so far since getting home
we also got to go in a group this year so was nice to see the girls with friends

My first Specialist Appointment

today I had my gyno appointment to see why my iron is so low and to hopefully see what we can do to help get my energy back up.

well I was told what I thought I would hear I have 2 choices well four but the implant-on and the deprovera both cause mood swings and weight gain and I already am dealing with them so I am looking at a merina  contraception or next step up a hysterectomy. This I am not looking forward to and the merina can be 1 in 5 that it doesn't work for but at least I have to try and hope my iron levels raise up. All this has caused me some emotional issues and more stress as the hysterectomy is a longer recovery as it is Major surgery and I am a full time mum so think Ill wait that one out.

so hope this will end it all know it ends children If we ever wanted more but thankfully we have two beautiful Girls and we are a happy family network. plus I just really want energy so we can do more fun things as a family

Swimming Lessons

this last week I finally stepped up and got the girls in for swimming lessons, not cheap but a must I think, I have been worried about this for awhile as My dad drowned and I want my girls to know how to swim as both myself and Hubby are good swimmers.

Alex has lessons at school but it only adds up to 9 maybe 10 lessons a year as it is only 1 school term.now they are going weekly, Alex is in level 2 and Robyn who has never had a lesson is confident enough that in to weeks she will also be in level 2 :) so they will be in the same lesson then.
on Monday they had the free assessment and Thursday after school was their first swimming lessons,

Relay for Life 2011

today is Ipswich's Relay for life, and we woke to Thunderstorms and heavy rain, just hope the rain lets up so everything can go ahead but no idea yet.

we didn't get on a team due to the girls but have friends walking and helped out a little with them, but will be joining in next year if all is still good with us, and life stays happy and healthy.

Alex went in for the survivors walk and I went as her carer both Hubby and Robyn joined us in this walk :)
we then stayed for afternoon tea. I have put up my hand for the Queensland Cancer Council to volunteer where needed ( not Childhood cancer but still helps in other ways) Pink Ribbon day is the first one I will be doing this year :) I did help in 2009 with Alex while she was still on treatment.

♥♥♥ Photo's from Today and still smiling ♥♥♥
we met a girl dressed as a nurse at the shopping center she is doing the relay too

Alex ready for the survivors walk with the working wonders Bravery Beads and her best friends Robyn her sister and Elliot her Dog from Childhood Cancer Associations SA

today was a great day and so many looked up to Alex as a survivor and even High five'd her on the walk  Thumbs up People this is a small gain in Childhood cancer awareness for us but a big gain for others to see Cancer effects all no matter what your age  race or if you are male of female it will hit some one we all know.
the storms held of with no rain so far and hope they hold of all night for those walking  and we have friends walking tonight and in the morning, Alex enjoyed some sweets which I was told will be calorie free as requested in prayers lol, ♥ but well today was not about Diets or anything but about helping the right people find that elusive cure for ALL CANCER!!!
we did see the mayor but he didn't see us this year  and that is no issue as he opened the afternoon well

I  have been working at the school (nothing flash just volunteering) Friday I worked in the library sorting out books and putting them away, Robyn helped me in there by dusting hehe she was a good girl and had her lunch with Alex then we went home.

our run of bad luck I hope has ended I hope, as we had it since July, first the fridge stop working we got this fixed with tax money, then the washing machine died which we also used tax return to buy a new one :) then our second Computer died just as I start Studying and need the access, but we can get by with laptop etc so no big deal  :) then this week the dishwasher started to play up, looks like the water pump or hose so will be checking that out this weekend and hope its an easy fix, the dishwasher is 7 years old and done well so no complaints here either just me venting it all out, the car had issues but thanks to the great mechanic's we actually saved in the end :) and the Harley, she is getting old and needs some work but she is still going and we have started doing all that needs doing, she will be like a new bike with her heart and soul that makes her REN (Serenity as Hubby calls her)

All this is nothing on what we have been through and can be replaced with time and savings :) the best thing is we are still a family standing together and still have our daughters in our life, Alex is growing into a beautiful young Lady with good morals and love for others,
