small bumps in the road

well we are now in September, last month the washer went so had to buy a new one July the fridge went, this month is playing the same tune last week my External disc drive died with all my 2011 photos and home movie's so a big loss for me, today Hubbies Computer also died and looks like the motherboard may be the issue but we will look into dell later for a new upgrade,

today Alex was excited about taking her pets to school (hermit Crabs) they were a hit with the class too, she had a great day and was happy when I picked her up, but when we got home she screamed about a headache then even Robyn walking into her room set her off. Miss Alex put herself to bed this is not my Alex that likes to eat and play when she gets home from school, she feels feverish and is sleeping now with her normal pain cry she does when asleep, so I will be keeping a watch on her as its totally out of the ordinary the last time she went like this she ended up with transfusion etc but that was during treatment so I can stay calm and pray it is just a flu or bug and she will be back up and fighting with her sister tomorrow or next week.

hope she is ok tomorrow as the class has a class party and she is going as a Fairy ♥ as this is the last week of school the we are on holidays for a couple of weeks

these taken last week just love how much they love each other ♥

September scan day

7th September is Alex's scan day and we get to have Ultrasound and X-Ray instead of another CT so less radiation for My Princess and no needles again ♥ 11am for these scans so she must fast for 6 hours before the scan :( not an easy thing to do when she loves to eat but they need the tummy empty to see all that needs to be seen ( tumor near aorta is hidden by the tummy most times. ) I called CCS about parking there and dropping all the toys the girls have either grown out of or no longer need for the families.

scans came back same or close to same so no real change :) but like some days they forgot the tumors near the aorta so we got called back in this is hard to find due to bowel and stomach being in the way so she gets grizzly after this plus being hungry  (VERY HUNGRY). we then waited in the waiting room  not very long for the chest X-Ray to be done before heading up to Banksia to see Dr Tim.  Alex loves her oncologist and she gets excited when he calls her in :)
The Dr was happy with all Alex has and is doing, we just need to watch the pain in her leg and neck but could be growing pains.(Alex has had pain in her bones and tummy the last few weeks so a little worried about this but staying positive plus having a friend up helped keep scanxiety at bay) Alex is now 25.3kg and 119cm tall even the nurses that have not seen her in some time told her to stop growing lol. we got more bravery beads to continue the chain for her and still waiting on the blood transfusion one (2) and some more for injections etc but should get them in Dec when we go back for the next scan.

Dec is booked in for a CT as she has not had one in a little and these like MRI's show more info for the Dr's Alex is also due a ECCO at the end of the year  to check her heart, ( one of the chemo's can have delayed issues after treatment and we do not what that) we will book that at the next appointment and will be done in the new year.

watching the magic school bus
 playing in the RCH playground
 CCS playground

Sitting in front seat for a little drive ( now she is 7 she can but still a little unsure about it myself she is still small she didn't stay long as seat-belt is a little high still so back into the back seat)

Tomorrow is my scans and Dr's appointment to see blood results plus car in for service, then I wait til Oct for gyno appointment to see what I can do more to improve my iron levels or why I am anaemic,

Another visit from a great friend

Jon the Beast as Hubby calls his best Mate, was here for another Visit this month.

1. to see me and the Girls now Alex is doing so well ( he came up just after she finished Radiation last time so was in the middle of it all)

2. to spend time with Hubby :) as its a good release to him to get out with the boys once in a while :) they have been mates for some time now.

the visit was a little longer this time and it was great to see old friends, so far we have only had 2 from Adelaide visit us ( well 3 if you count a friend through Hubbies work here on course lol).

Friday:- we went to lunch at the RSL and also went to Alex's school, nothing big but its not about doing everything. we did play wii party (board game island) and Robyn won this from a little girls who says she never wins :)

Saturday:- we went out to Wivenhoe dam and checked out a couple of play grounds as well as Fernvale playground, then we bought Daddy his Fathers Day present a nice Webber BBQ  he has been asking for one for ages. the boys went out for some boy time that night while I stayed at home with the girls and played the wii again, Robyn actually went to sleep in her own bed without a fight one small step forward lol, but she is still coming into our bed at night I think because she wakes up needing the toilet, can not complain she is day and night dry 99% now :)

Sunday:- we went to Queens park and then had Pizza for Fathers day, the girls gave both Daddy and Uncle Jon a card for fathers day and small gifts Daddy got to use his Webber BBQ for dinner too.  at queens park we went through the animal park then the Japanese gardens and last of all we went to the play ground til it started to rain.

Monday:- Alex had school this day so she went to school under protest :) both girls have loved having Uncle Jon here to annoy and talk to, we went to Robina down on the Gold Coast to catch up with one of Jon's Cousins, had lunch and a look around the shops. we got back just before school finished so took Alex out early then went out to ironbark wineries for Jon to grab a bottle of QLD wine to take home.

Tuesday (today) :- Uncle Jon went home to Adelaide an the girls were sad to see him go :( they have really enjoyed the time with him here, he left at 5am as his flight was at 6.30am so an early start, Alex had school and Robyn stayed with Me and Daddy as Daddy had this day of too.

tomorrow is scan day for Alex she has another Ultrasound and Xray then we see her oncologist and head back home to relax after scanxiety has passed :)

I also have scans on Thursday for my low iron issues that now need to be addressed so one good thing I have a healthy cancer survivor to keep me on my toes and her sister so iron levels up means more energy to keep up with them both :) as last Wednesday I tried to give blood at red cross but I found out I am anaemic so could not do this I have seen a Dr about this issue and I can try again in 6 months if all comes back good.

please pray we see stable nodes and the rest clear, she is doing so well I am positive all will be fine but scanxiety always sneaks up and takes over my chain of thought, this last month I have been busy with events and fun days that I have not really thought about it much but it is still there in the background..

I am blessed to see both my girls looking healthy and seeing them full of energy and I hold this tight  ♥♥♥

may we see that cure like Now as so sad to hear or read about another child or really an adult suffering this beast and losing the battle
