Dentist visit

yesterday Alex had her first dentist Visit and she was so brave sitting in the big chair. she has had some pain in her mouth and after last year when she hated me brushing her teeth due to oral thrush or any other chemo side effect she got I wanted them checked. good news is they are all good on top BUT on the bottom we are looking at having 2 pulled maybe 3 but they will be putting her under a general to do this, and also she is getting her 6 year old molars so they may wait for them with pulling some, as with Baby teeth they like to put in a Bridge ( he actually called it a fairy bridge hehe) to keep the gap open for her new teeth  to come through so No idea how muct this is going to cost us but well need to get it done.

I also had a dentist visit as in May I broke a tooth and have been silly and putting it off. was a quick repair and nothing else wrong for me :) well that was good to hear too

To day we are off to the Dr as both Girls ( all of us now actually)  have had bad coughs No temps though, so I just want to be sure alex's lungs are clear as we have her Ultrasound and X-Ray in 2 weeks time, which I do not need to hear their are any spots etc in her lungs  so this way I can get her on something to combat the cold :) and maybe get a good night sleep

Edit to add Dr Visit went well girls have both got a ear nose and throat infection and are both on antibiotics, just watching Alex to be sure of no reaction as its Penacillin and she has a reaction to ceftriaxone so hope this is ok..... I to have the same but am not as bad this is due to the girls sleeping with me and Coughing on me at night hehe oh well nice to know they share lol

Camp Quality Puppets

Thursday Robyn and myself joined the Prep and yr 1's at Alex's school for the puppeteers  from Camp Quality
Alex loved it and they told the whole class about cancer and that its not nice to tease and that you can not catch cancer from people, also that Children get it too :'( also it isnt just cancer based anyone different should not be teased.

Photobucket

The Camp Quality girls did a great Job, they waited around after to show the class how the puppets work and also for some Photos
I got a class photo for prep and Grade 1 then I got one with Just Robyn and alex :) ♥
PhotobucketFriday was prime time ( worship and certificates etc) Alex was the First Name called out for certificates she was so excited to get her 2nd certificate from school, "for always doing her very best at everything she does" :) so proud ♥ they have the 40 hr famon on but as most are to young they are doing the no power (lights etc) for the day plus all wearing Bright Colours instead of Uniforms with a gold Coin donation ♥

Today we have voting for the priminister of Australia wonder if we will keep our 1st Lady or not, not an easy desission for any of us I dont think.

Tomorrow Ipswich has the Train Museums day and free for us locals so now to talk Hubby into going , we did it last year but Alex got so tired easily ♥ should be a good day out anyway

♥♥♥Please keep all the Cancer Kids and Families, who are Fighting this battle or in  remission  in your thoughts as this is one battle we will always be stressing over ♥♥♥

winters end.....

Family fun day out Photo's

all is good here, well sort of we all have colds even with vitamins etc to help fight it ( yes even Daddy) Alex worries me though she only has a cough that is VERY Barky at Night and no other signs of a cold etc, but the Dr was happy with it when we left the hospital a couple of weeks ago and we do have an X-Ray and Ultrasound on next month so not long.

yeap thats me stress stress hehe must drive people crazy but well if they ask I will tell it as it is I will not sugar coat it as they expect me to I am a Cancer Kid mum so will always worry what next but Pray that we never see anything again.

This thursday we have Camp Quality Puppets coming to the school Alex's class and grade 1 will get to meet these puppets I am going in to and will sit at the back. they come to schools and help kids understand what Cancer kids are dealing with in a fun way plus that they are not going to catch it !!!! should be fun. but then saying that Alex is scared of Giggles ( camp Quality puppet that goes around the hospital he is actually a Robot on a trycicle)

we are also down for our First Family camp with this group to in November, our first cancer camp in total hehe Alex calls it Cancer Camp she is so looking forward to it and we may see other families from the RCH here in Brisbane as its the local area camp...

on Saturday we went to Queens Park they have a play area plus an animal park you can walk around so we did this Alex loved it  ( the last time we went was the week before she was diagnosed )  here are some Photos from Saturday :)

Alex got Head Lice again but only a couple and off cause she shared them with me ARGH. so we all have been treated today, I am looking at this as a good thing as
1. she is a normal child at school getting normal issues
2. she has nice thick hair now hehe and its healthy
3. we are just like all the other parents at the school dealing with the normal things :)
just funny that I have checked Robyns and double checked but NONE are there hehe she has the longest hair in our house but nope none there...

☆ Studies and Stress ☆

I have been lost for awhile and finished Business admin Cert 2 and 3 so was thinking would help me work

NO not with all the time I need for a school child and a 3.5 yr old so thought part time etc so enquired to study Bach of Education early childhood education (up to 8yrs old)

Guess what I am now signed up to Uni ME a person who never finished High school but Hey I will at least have something to keep me focused on while we wait all the tests etc and just hope I can move forward,

Plus Hubbies Job is under going issues and may either need to change trade to stay or go higher with  training as he has been with them 20 yrs

positive thoughts that the future is still good for us :)

we also decided not to get a 2nd car as this would just be to much outlay for us. plus we want to stay focused on the point of no relapse but if Alex does we will get a second car straight away depending on where hubbies job sends us

Hates Cancer big Time.....

Today I have been unsettled as I read a couple of blogs I follow...

skyegetter has Passed away today she had the same cancer as Alex Wilms Tumor, but was classed stage 1 at first diagnosis, but she relapsed a few times and now after such a strong battle is in the lords loving and healing arms. I pray for her family in this sad time ♥

hannah grace  also lost her battle this weekend :(  I  pray for her family too

R.I.P to Skye and Hannah...♥♥♥

I know cancer is a bad thing and I so hate it but am also over being told you are out of it now, but understand it is still Cancer.... cancer Kills .... it takes our loved ones without prejudice, it is stupid  and waits ... Hides til it is ready to strike.....Skye is someone that was a stage 1, but this cancer didnt stop there.... it came back again and again,  Alex is stage 3 was classed stage 4 at first, I will respect Cancer more than you could understand  I will always worry about my Princess and what will happen next but do hope to see her grow up healthy like all parents do.

I pray always that a cure will be found soon.
