school Holidays June 2012

June School Holidays  are here and now with me recovering I also must keep the girls entertained ♥

23rd June:  we went to the park with a friend and her girls, as they went away for the two weeks holidays,
we spent the morning in the playground area at Queens Park at Ipswich near the flying fox and then walked through the nature park before lunch, I think all the girls had a wonderful time climbing everything in site plus running around being kids. we then went to the Japanese Gardens for a picnic lunch and more playing around, was a great day but some areas where out of bounds due to renovations being done on Bridges etc.
Autumn Leaves

24th June: another Park around the area for the DSNSGwe went to Springfield Lakes to the Robelle Domain park,
the girls got to play games with other children and also do crafts and  we had a picnic lunch again, at the end we went for a walk around the water park side but did not get wet

think it is now Time for me to sit back and relax for a day or two but looking at getting theme park passes in next few weeks so will put them to use as well

my Surgery ( I am a big wuss compared to Alexandria ♥)

so I finally had the surgery and now I hope to get my energy back as if not I will have to do more tests to see why I have low iron.

this last weekend took some more photos of the girls too

Sunday we went to a High Tea for a friend of Alex's and Robyn's From school. she has Chosen her Charity to be Childhood Cancer Research and we got invited as Alex is the reason she chose it ♥

Monday was the surgery and both girls went to school before this and I missed them heaps as they stayed at friends as I was not allowed to drive for 24 hours after and I also had complications so was admitted with a perforated Uterus ( I have two uterus's so was the talk of the day surgery unit and the maternity ward) they wanted to make me know about other issues that can show up in the next five days like bowel perforation as that usually goes along with what happened. I got home today Tuesday and feel sore all over for nothing really but  I really did miss the girls even their giggling and fighting ♥they have been good for me as I can not do much just encase Grr

YouTube Video I did for Family

this is a slide show I made for the family back home that do not have the luxuary to see us all the time and see their only grandchildren grow up ♥

"go down the Right side and turn the music off if you wish to hear the songs on the You Tube Video"

I also have added the old one

I have signed up for the 2012 Bridge to Brisbane 5 km walk so you can sponsor me at
Sponsor me!
the money raised goes to Oncology through Logan's Run. and the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation ( the name has changed now though but still the same  foundation)

this is in Australia

this You Tube video was made for the woolworths foundation and Alex is in it also

remember by helping raise awareness and sponsoring the right charities the money goes to a great cause that one-day will help the world see a cancer free world or at the best see a better treatment plan for those going through cancer treatment and better survival rates ♥

Scan Day

Today 6th June 2012 is a day like every other every 3 months but this is also a CT not an X-Ray and Ultrasound, Alex is doing well but has had issues when she holds on for a little while ( I say Little while as it can be only 3 minutes after she wants to go before she is screaming in pain and once she goes feels ill and wants to throw up ♥)
today was a long day for us all I had to get Robyn up at 6am so friends could pick her up for school she went back to their place and played  til school started, on the road in I was held up by 3 accidents not one or two but three so hope no one was seriously injured but did see ambulance at scene of the last one with the Motor bike,
we had only got over half way when Alex needed to go and she was uncomfortable, so nothing I could do to help here as we didn't pass any place that had a toilet

Shhh! we found the Clown Dr's Hideout lol
we arrived in Brisbane and walked to the hospital from the car park and got to the toilet for Alex, then went into the out patience ward (oncology) to get canula and oral contrast, this time contrast was only 2 not three drinks and was every hour not half hour, so less drink and then canula was done she cried like every time but she is not screaming as loud now she is growing up to fast ♥

after the contrast and canula were done we went down to radiology to wait our turn , we had to wait longer as another patient came in and we got bumped, this did not worry me as they needed answers asap and looked like another family joining our cancer family ♥, an hour later we go in and Alex like normal is a super trooper
radiology waiting the extra time and keeping her smiling
CT scans are nothing :)

easy peasy lemon squeezy as she says

we then head downstairs to have some food as 6am to 11.30am no food  was starting to make her a little grumpily, she ate her chips nothing really in the cafe at the hospital Miss Alex will eat so she got this, while eating them she was teasing the pigeons and chasing them, then we stopped into the wonder Factory for the last 15 minutes, it has been so long since we had been in there but even this short time was good
then back up to Outies on level 3

bored in outies
this was our ward when we stayed at the hospital

we caught up with some of the nurses and another family I know online and Alex played and tried to keep busy with everything but it is never easy to keep a 7 year old busy when she knows everything around her, she did play with about 4 different children in the out patience waiting room think she was the mother hen looking out for them all ♥

we finally got into see Dr Tim and all looks stable, a big sigh of relief from me, her uti issues are not Cancer also and we just have to keep an eye and hope its just her holding on  but if not then will have to follow that up also as it could be Treatment related,

then we made the next appointments for 3 months time and though it was a good time to head home, I had to get friends to pick Robyn up also and they ended up needing us to help back so we watched their two children for a few hours til they had things sorted also,

I just want to sleep this last few weeks have drained it out of me and so glad it is a long weekend and I can sit back and try catch up on cleaning and studies, plus just enjoy my beautiful Girls while they are both so healthy and happy,
