Daddies Home ♥

Daddy got home late last night, the girls have been so sad with him away, and we have been lucky of late as with Alex being sick his job has been lenient about sending him, the girls made cards to welcome him home and I wanted to Video their faces when he arrived (but he arrived in QLD after 9pm so not even home) and then his luggage went on a different flight so waiting on that today, the Taxi broke down too so he didnt get home til after 11pm :o
it has been full on but well this is the life we lead and I am lucky its only a couple of weeks here and there....well may change after this course with deployment :o
the girls have not left him alone all morning Robyn came into our room and Bed at 1.30am and she just wanted to talk to daddy from then on so we did get her to sleep til 6am hehe,♥♥
the hardest thing was finding things to do as it rained almost every day lol so much for the summer coming soon and spring showers all round lol.. but do love the colours out so think I need to get out with the camera soon again ♥

Robyn decided that she never wanted nappies or pull-ups again so almost the whole time Daddy was away she has done very well. the odd accident here and there monday was the worst as she wanted her Daddy ♥
they both slept odd nights here and there with mummy I like it but they both are octopus's arms and legs everywhere lol
I have also started really changing our diets organic and fresh as much as I can get found a few places that deliver so 1 step forward for a healthy family and I am running daily sprints one day and jogging the next (the Jogging is the C25K week 5 now  you can google it to see what it is but I am up to 3x 5 min jogs with walking in between a total of 32 min and around 3k W5D2 is suppose to be 2x 8min jogs so will see how I am tomorrow!!!) not much but I am starting to feel good about fitness etc and need the energy a health body has to keep up with the family I have also lost 2kg so a small step forward

Alex has her cough back ( well it has not really gone away ARGH) but no show on X-Ray so can hope its nothing to stress about...

we have the next few days as a family before school goes back on monday and we have our day at Dreamworld to look forward too as well :) hope the rain stays away

Another Hospital trip (nothing serious though ♥)

I called the liaison nurse about Alex's immunizations as they are due to be updated (boosters) and I got a letter awhile ago but medicare would not cover it so Tuesday I called about getting a new letter or getting the immunizations done at Banksia outpatients. so Wednesday I got a call from the immunization clinic and we got in today Alex will need 5 shot :'(

I am feeling really bad at the moment though but have decided on splitting them up 4 today, 2 in each arm ♥  and the other 1 may not need doing as she may be OK for that (chicken pox and the 2nd MMR shot so in 6 weeks when we are in for the CT they will do bloods to find out but end of November she will need another 1 or more depending on the blood results. Alex was a "Super Trooper" she cried and was rewarded with hungry jacks on the way home with a play in the playground :)

Robyn has finally clicked to with Toilet training and has been dry 3 days even No.2's are going well (touch wood for no setbacks )

Alex was a little upset as we got notified we didn't make the Camp Quality list this year but that's cool we will enjoy our weekend at Dreamworld with Daddy and will get a camp next year as there are so many families on this road ( I would love to see none but it isn't going to happen soon :'(  )...

on a bad note this month has been disaster month the girls broke their TV and DVD player in their room earlier on then the DVD in our lounge doesnt works any more :(, then today I went to use the portable DVD in our car and the screen is majorly smashed :( so not happy as they both played up on the 1 hr plus drive each way to and from the RCH today... I need brakes done on the car and a new tyre on the bike, the list goes on but oh well September is almost over and a new month here soon :) hope to get a good sleep tonight and hubby home soon too :)
so will be doing car and bike then slowly saving for DVD players etc (really do need the one in the car but that will be the last replaced just lucky we only go in every 6 weeks now I guess)

daddy has been away for a few days now and both girls are missing him dearly, he calls about 2 -3 times a day to talk to me and the girls though, they love that, I am thankful that he has not had to go away while Alex was sick as I have no idea how we would have dealt with hospitals etc with just me I know I did it for 4 weeks when radiation was done, as hubby had to work.....

I am so paranoid too every noise makes me jump, even though we have a police officer in the house opposite us with teen kids that are up late at night plus neighbours that look out for us :)
just miss being away from real family and friends in Adelaide, would have things to do and not be wondering WHAT I can do to keep girls happy and stop the sadness,

I have to take my hat of to all the single parents out there you do a wonderful job, and to the families thats partners are deployed or traveling away for 3-6 months at a time, have no idea how my aunt and gran did it in WW1 and WW2 with the longer tour's of duty♥

must say studying is helping a little to keep me busy but I am worried as have never done an academic essay before!!!! but I am learning about referencing, etc so that will help me heaps. oh and Playing photographer wish I had the $$ to get a few great ones though

we did get one good news on Friday Camp Quality called to tell us we made the list for Dreamworld, and we will be going next month WooHoo, this is great a family day out maybe this time we will see Dora :)
we are also on the list of possible families for the Family Camp in November this will be the first camp for us as last year Alex was unable to go and Robyn is to young still for the camps. but we did get circus tickets from them and also jumpers ♥ but just waiting to see if we get through... as so many families with cancer kids are also in need and may get in before us:(...

Scan Day

today is another Scan day we all slept well both Girls in bed with Mummy as Daddy is away for work.
I got up first at about 7am then both girls followed about 7.40am, Alex had some breaky as she has to fast from about 10am for the Ultrasound, Robyn had her normal sandwich for breaky and is also telling me no to pre-school as she wants to be with us, No she went with tears :'(   once we got there I was informed that Robyn would be going up another room she is now in the Pre-school room woohoo she had a ball in there too ♥

Waiting to see Dr Tim
Riding the rocking horse at Radiology waiting for scans
waiting to get out after Ultrasound.

the Dr's appointment was at 11.40am we had port access as well, but didnt actually get in til after 12.30pm, then down for Ultrasound this was to be at 2.15pm but as we got their early it was at 1.30pm :) they checked everything and didnt really say anything that would indicate much to me for alarm, they then had to consult the Dr's in Radiology before letting us go back to the waiting room just incase they wanted more Pictures, they all came back in and where looking at the nodes, this is my alarm bell, it looks like they have changed shape and a little bigger but Ultrasounds can be deceptive I know as the last one they said the nodes had shrunk, I am worried YES!!! but will wait to see what the Dr's say to us if anything, and for the CT in 6 week, we then had her X-Ray and grabbed a drink and left the hospital with the inviting macca's for when we pick up Robyn to be the reward for both girls..... worked :) Alex has not been in the play ground at Macca's since diagnosis so today was special for her ♥

we met another family today, their son has leukemia and will finish treatment in may, he also has severe downs syndrome and has beaten every odd against him, was an inspiration to see him walking and so forth at 7 but the Dr's said these things would never happen, keep it up Young man ♥

September Childhood Cancer awareness month glitter

September Childhood Cancer awareness month,
glitter-graphics.com

glitter-graphics.com

here in Australia they do not do much about this only really focus on the adult strains or leukemia, there are foundations around for Childhood cancer research etc and I always try and do my little bit that one person can to promote this, the statistics are lower here, but when you look at us and other countries its the same when you take into account the population difference, also Childhood cancer Kids suffer differently to adults due to their bodies still growing, this is during and after treatment as the long term effects are unknown and so many get one or more of these long term side effects,  they are also prone to the same complications as adults too.

this last month has been not to bad, we have all had colds and Alexandria still has that dreaded cough but no other side effects to worry about she did get an ear infection and no temp so we went to our local Dr and she was put on anti-biotics to clear it up, Robyn and I also had it too. she is better now but the cough still around!!!!! the girls are also not in the good books and we have implemented a naughty chair which is sort of working for our 3.5 yr old!!! they decided to play jump on their beds the other night and broke Alex's bed, TV and chest of drawn so much for sleeping at 8.30pm :o so now they are not allowed to get on computer and we Will not replace the TV as this is money we do not have, car is over due a service and Bike need a Tyre which for a Harley is NOT CHEAP here in OZ!!!!

scanexiaty has hit as we have X-Ray and Ultrasound next week plus Dr appointment, we will not get results as the scans are after the Dr's appointment due to me needing to get home for Robyn as Hubby is working away and no other family or close friends to get her if I am held up...

Alex has her last week of term 3 this week and she went to school dressed as a Dr last week for come to class as what you want to be when you grow up so cute, we had a Lady, A Ninga Turtle, a cowboy, a cook, Dr Alex lol, and a few others plus the teacher was a princess ♥ Alex wants to grow up to be a Dr. and to help Kids like her, or Find a cure if it is still needed by then, I think its cute she wants to make it all better for others like her. but I do hope the cure is found sooner than later but who knows!!!!!!

October Alex will restart swimming lessons at School she is so looking forward to that and we have the new year book list already OMG its only 1 term left of her prep year and then Christmas will be here we have hit 9 months out from treatment and she is looking great ♥

we live for today and make the most of what we have here and now. This is the normal for us now and the smallest issues even with my Youngest Daughter who is not a cancer kid I still panic.  I have learnt now to relax while it is going well and enjoy what we have, but start getting Scanxiaty as of the week or so before which is now ARGH!!!!! so we live for 4-5 weeks then stress for a week or 2 and once its over go back into normal mode,

September Childhood Cancer Awareness month

here I am thinking what can I do as just me so far this year I have done Pink Ribbon day last year while Alex was undergoing treatment and she helped too, the biggest morning tea with Alex's school. relay for life, have joined the CCS (childhood cancer support here in QLD) they are totally public funded from donations etc so I am giving back but we also are on their list. I will be doing the pink ribbon run next year and any other run/walk that comes up

now I want to see the school do the "Talk like a pirate day"  on the 19th Sep for CCS (they will have to do this at a different date due to school holidays etc) and I am in need of motivation to lose weight so thinking I will start a walking trend and get donations for the Childhood Cancer foundation SA (south Australia) it is funny as I am from SA this is where Alex's Puppy came from Elliot the stuffed dog for Childhood cancer they sell him and even a puppy version too but in SA the Cancer children get one to keep them company when going through treatment once you have him you register him onlin and the kids can email him Photos plus he will answer with letters and birthday wishes :) ♥

so over the next few weeks I am looking into this walking and weight loss thing and see how I can go about getting this set up for the charity I want, may we all do our little biyt in helping this world find that cure for Childhood Cancer

Today I went to a chiro and had my back cracked feels good and it was only my first visit, I have also done my first weekly task for my studies so slowly ontop of things good thing I am only doing 1 unit this Study Period hehe

Hugs your children and enjoy the borrowed time we all have here on earth ♥
