Anzac day 2011

Remember the Diggers, today is Anzac day and we start before 4am every year for the dawn service. the actual landing at Gallipoli was at 4.28am so that is the time the service is done at the school. this year like last is again at the school but as it is still school holidays we will not be involved with the school but the church. Hubby is doing the catafalque party again and me and the girls will be watching again we had family serving in both WWI  WWII and Korea so we always remember those that served, plus Hubby now over 21 years in and counting ♥♥♥

THE ANZAC MEMORIAL
Those heroes that shed their blood And lost their lives...
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therefore, rest in peace.
There is no difference between the Johnnies
And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side,
Here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries...
Wipe away your tears.
Your sons are now lying in our bosom And are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land, they have

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Easter Fun

this weekend the Easter Bunny came to Visit the girls and us :)
we went around to friends on Thursday afternoon to see their new family member ( a beautiful puppy at 5 months old) Alex got grizzly so I took the girls home for Dinner and bath etc it was a big day and she was tired.

the girls got gater gulf a game of gulf where a gator head is the hole :) they love it, they also got some squinkies (sp) argh plus Chocolate galore. Friday we had a meeting with someone from Alex's school church about ANZAC day Monday so went to McDonald so girls could play while daddy talked etc. they had a ball getting into the play area and I enjoyed a nice Coffee and  watched them ♥... the weather has been good and we got rain this night but in the arvo the girls got to play in the paddle pool :)

saturday we enjoyed the day at home did some beading and other crafts etc girls played games ( i must say I have been so proud of them both, we cleared out the toys and put them all away in designated tubs etc and they both have been great putting everything away after they are finished 1 week now and counting.. Great work Alex and Robyn ♥♥♥.) also played Star Wars monopoly hehe,

sunday we have the great egg hunt and the girls got to much chocolate like normal but they do not eat it all at once will be over the next few weeks :) we ended up doing this inside as 3 chickens love chocolate??? yeap they break them up before the girls get to them so we took the girls outside to play and one of us put some around the house and on their beds :) even did some Bunny prints on the floor OMG did the girls squeal hehe

Alex has been very tired of late but think it's just growing etc and a small amount from treatment as she is still recovering and getting back to herself. plus scans etc are clear so what else can I say... her cough is still there but they think it is treatment related and will always be there on and off!!!. I have also put Alex onto cranberry vitamins as they help with UTI's etc just half as she is 6 not an adult they seam to be working too :). have also put Robyn on cranberry as she has had a UTI this weekend :( hope that is all it is

Immunizations

Friday Alex has her Flu shot plus the last of her childhood vaccinations done (chicken pox), she is not 100% as thursday her urine was a greenish colour and can be an indicator for a uti of other kidney infections so not happy when she has only one kidney and all I want is her healthy they took a sample and just said to watch her over the weekend, have to call for results on Monday to see how good or bad it is, as she may get unwell after these immunizations and they didn't want me thinking its the shots when it could be a major infection we just over looked so better to be safe with her one good kidney and health...
normally we get to stop at CCS but today I could not get through so we parked at the hospital  it was a short stay and cost us $12. but the girls missed out on the play ground :(. I promised them the park later today or tomorrow weather pending and how Alex may feel too ♥

this morning Alex woke up in pain and it was on her Kidney side she soon was calm and feeling better but will be watching her closer now too

School Holidays are here

we are on School Holidays here from the 8th to the 27th April so get Easter and Anzac day before school returns. I have been sorting out my fitness as want to be as healthy as I can for my Girls as well as sorting out things to do over these holidays, this week Alex will be unlucky and getting her seasonal flu shot plus her last Chicken pox vac on Friday. we have had fun baking Muffins and made some corn Fritters as well phone photos will be added soon :)

Alex lost her other front tooth this weekend too so she has no top teeth at the moment so cute with that toothless grin ♥♥
All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth

may do the Art Museum again this weekend or Next as it is still making monsters but a great time out for us, also looking at Queens park again fun filled hehe. may go for a drive to Mt Glorious for something different or the zoo that is out near Toowoomba??? who knows,

We have also been told we are here in Queensland for another year so hope to hear next year that we will be posting back to Adelaide but who knows anything can happen and we do have the best Oncologist available here so even though we only have visits and scans it is keeping my mind at ease knowing we have him behind us :)..May need to save for a holiday back to South Australia so the girls can see the Grandparents or be lucky and win lotto hehe...

another great weekend together ♥

on Saturday we spent the day cleaning and the girls hated every minute, so on Sunday we decided to get out and enjoy the weather ( it was sunny but we had a few showers too typical Autumn weather for Southern Queensland). we went to the small zoo at Queens Park again  enjoyed the wander around even with the down pour we got caught in.

then to the play ground for some fun

then lastly the Japanese Gardens we had our photo shoot last month at and by the end Alex was exhausted ( she still tires easily but it never stops her enjoying everything to the Maximum)
we decided home made pizza's for dinner and both girls went to bed on a good note :)

must say things have been running smoothly at the moment and I am staying positive that things keep on the road up :) we do have Alex due for the Flu Vaccination now which is 2 needles :( plus her last Chicken pox shot is due so I have to organise the trip into the RCH soon for at least the 1st flu shot and last Chicken pox shot and hope to get the second one done at the local clinic as we do not need to go back to the hospital til the 1st June and am looking forward to enjoying this time before scanxiety sneaks back into this house hold again

I was suppose to post this yesterday but Alex had a bad night and I took her to the Dr as she is due the Flu shot  she has an upper respiration infection Robyn and myself have it but only slightly so Alex is off school yesterday and today, hope to go back tomorrow as there is only 3 more days til school holidays start, must say I was not as worried as I would have been last year its a cold winter will be here in june and it is getting cooler. have been told to still keep an eye on her as infections etc are not good plus she is at a higher risk of complications than the rest of us  but she is not on anti-boitics as they want her to push through and see if she improves first.

so yesterday we had some lovely sunny weather in the yard and the girls enjoyed a picnic with Lee-Lee the Chicken stealing what ever she could snatch quickly lol
