Sad girls ♥ with brave smiles ♥

Photobucket
daddy has been away for a few days now and both girls are missing him dearly, he calls about 2 -3 times a day to talk to me and the girls though, they love that, I am thankful that he has not had to go away while Alex was sick as I have no idea how we would have dealt with hospitals etc with just me I know I did it for 4 weeks when radiation was done, as hubby had to work.....

I am so paranoid too every noise makes me jump, even though we have a police officer in the house opposite us with teen kids that are up late at night plus neighbours that look out for us :)
just miss being away from real family and friends in Adelaide, would have things to do and not be wondering WHAT I can do to keep girls happy and stop the sadness,

I have to take my hat of to all the single parents out there you do a wonderful job, and to the families thats partners are deployed or traveling away for 3-6 months at a time, have no idea how my aunt and gran did it in WW1 and WW2 with the longer tour's of duty♥

must say studying is helping a little to keep me busy but I am worried as have never done an academic essay before!!!! but I am learning about referencing, etc so that will help me heaps. oh and Playing photographer wish I had the $$ to get a few great ones though

Scan Day

today is another Scan day we all slept well both Girls in bed with Mummy as Daddy is away for work.
I got up first at about 7am then both girls followed about 7.40am, Alex had some breaky as she has to fast from about 10am for the Ultrasound, Robyn had her normal sandwich for breaky and is also telling me no to pre-school as she wants to be with us, No she went with tears :'(   once we got there I was informed that Robyn would be going up another room she is now in the Pre-school room woohoo she had a ball in there too ♥

Waiting to see Dr Tim
Riding the rocking horse at Radiology waiting for scans
waiting to get out after Ultrasound.

the Dr's appointment was at 11.40am we had port access as well, but didnt actually get in til after 12.30pm, then down for Ultrasound this was to be at 2.15pm but as we got their early it was at 1.30pm :) they checked everything and didnt really say anything that would indicate much to me for alarm, they then had to consult the Dr's in Radiology before letting us go back to the waiting room just incase they wanted more Pictures, they all came back in and where looking at the nodes, this is my alarm bell, it looks like they have changed shape and a little bigger but Ultrasounds can be deceptive I know as the last one they said the nodes had shrunk, I am worried YES!!! but will wait to see what the Dr's say to us if anything, and for the CT in 6 week, we then had her X-Ray and grabbed a drink and left the hospital with the inviting macca's for when we pick up Robyn to be the reward for both girls..... worked :) Alex has not been in the play ground at Macca's since diagnosis so today was special for her ♥

we met another family today, their son has leukemia and will finish treatment in may, he also has severe downs syndrome and has beaten every odd against him, was an inspiration to see him walking and so forth at 7 but the Dr's said these things would never happen, keep it up Young man ♥

September Childhood Cancer awareness month glitter

September Childhood Cancer awareness month,
glitter-graphics.com

glitter-graphics.com

here in Australia they do not do much about this only really focus on the adult strains or leukemia, there are foundations around for Childhood cancer research etc and I always try and do my little bit that one person can to promote this, the statistics are lower here, but when you look at us and other countries its the same when you take into account the population difference, also Childhood cancer Kids suffer differently to adults due to their bodies still growing, this is during and after treatment as the long term effects are unknown and so many get one or more of these long term side effects,  they are also prone to the same complications as adults too.

this last month has been not to bad, we have all had colds and Alexandria still has that dreaded cough but no other side effects to worry about she did get an ear infection and no temp so we went to our local Dr and she was put on anti-biotics to clear it up, Robyn and I also had it too. she is better now but the cough still around!!!!! the girls are also not in the good books and we have implemented a naughty chair which is sort of working for our 3.5 yr old!!! they decided to play jump on their beds the other night and broke Alex's bed, TV and chest of drawn so much for sleeping at 8.30pm :o so now they are not allowed to get on computer and we Will not replace the TV as this is money we do not have, car is over due a service and Bike need a Tyre which for a Harley is NOT CHEAP here in OZ!!!!

scanexiaty has hit as we have X-Ray and Ultrasound next week plus Dr appointment, we will not get results as the scans are after the Dr's appointment due to me needing to get home for Robyn as Hubby is working away and no other family or close friends to get her if I am held up...

Alex has her last week of term 3 this week and she went to school dressed as a Dr last week for come to class as what you want to be when you grow up so cute, we had a Lady, A Ninga Turtle, a cowboy, a cook, Dr Alex lol, and a few others plus the teacher was a princess ♥ Alex wants to grow up to be a Dr. and to help Kids like her, or Find a cure if it is still needed by then, I think its cute she wants to make it all better for others like her. but I do hope the cure is found sooner than later but who knows!!!!!!

October Alex will restart swimming lessons at School she is so looking forward to that and we have the new year book list already OMG its only 1 term left of her prep year and then Christmas will be here we have hit 9 months out from treatment and she is looking great ♥

we live for today and make the most of what we have here and now. This is the normal for us now and the smallest issues even with my Youngest Daughter who is not a cancer kid I still panic.  I have learnt now to relax while it is going well and enjoy what we have, but start getting Scanxiaty as of the week or so before which is now ARGH!!!!! so we live for 4-5 weeks then stress for a week or 2 and once its over go back into normal mode,
