School excursion for Alex

today Alex went on excursion and she wanted me to go to as alot of the parents went today, but as we get paid tomorrow I could not :( even though she was upset she had a great day with her class mates, prep to grade 3 they went to a zoo and got to see lots of animals.

last Friday Alex got her flu shot and I got my results, all is good but I have low blood counts and low iron  now need more tests to see why I am anaemic, but they have to wait, we had a 4 hour wait this arvo due to being bumped but the last one to bump us was a baby coughing who I would have volunteered to step back for this child, they should have gone straight to emergence as she could not breath when she was coughing, I hope she is ok ♥

Alex got upset when it came to needle time and they did a gentleman before us she was screaming by her turn so the nurse did it quick. all good we get to go home for dinner and then bed. On Monday morning while I was talking to the Councillor i get a call from the medical centre and this is a first scared its about my results but No its about Alex who they gave the wrong Vaccination to on Friday. OMG off all the people they stuffed hers up :(  so I had to take her back in that afternoon, The Dr had wrote the correct script but the nurse was in a hurry to go home Grrr, Alex was a trooper and cried and was upset but she was calmer than on the Friday, The Dr was so sorry about the mistake and lucky it was a shot that would not cause any issues ( either whooping cough or Chicken pox vaccination )  Alex has her standard bark (cough) back again and no other issues I am not worried as the chest X-Ray was clear too and she has had this cough since the start of treatment  on and off for nine months of the year, if she gets a temp we see the Dr to fight it more.

Scan day again

yesterday Alex had her Dr's Visit and Ultra sound and Chest X-Ray all was still stable with a slight change they will monitor at next scan but the think its just movement by her.

we all got up at 5am and it was another cool morning and was also the fires day of winter, as I backed out of the driveway I could see a Beautiful Rainbow ( Alex loves rainbows so we take them as a good sign :)
Photobucket

we arrived at the imaging department and signed in to wait out the 2 scans. the room was already busy as Wednesday is bone day for breaks etc so most are there for X-Rays. Alex started reading and Playing while we waited her turn which was not to long,
we get called in for the Ultrasound and Alex is always calm and relaxed, the sonigripher was new so could not find the mass near her aorta and reanal arteries but they did in the end, by now Alex was starting to fidget as she was hungry and we still had the X-Ray to go.
the scan was good a slight change but not enough to worry them and will be checked at next scan anyway

we head back out to wait to be called for the X-Ray and the room is even more full with children :( but still was not a long wait so we head down to get her scan done and she was great like normal.

she did stand hugging the machine for the scan though
after this was all done we headed down to the cafeteria for some food as she wanted a Turkish delight her treat all the way through treatment and the only chocolate she would eat at the time, but they shop had none :( so she got a kit-kat and chocolate milk with some hot chips, we ate some and then as had some time to spare went into the Wonder Factory this place is great the children get to play games etc and can borrow things to use on ward. the girls loved seeing Alex and how much she has improved so was nice to hear these complements as we have seen it in slow motion from the start and she is still our beautiful Princess.

finally it was time to head up to Banksia out-patience for the Dr Alex did not want to leave but we would have a wait any way so she took her picture and we headed up to the clinic and she got to sit with the school and do some work, they weighed her and she has lost a small amount but they think its due to weather getting cooler and her activity getting higher :) but she is doing well, Alex also got her Bravery Beads these are given at each treatment but as this started after Alex was finished we had to wait and It was worth it to see her face, she didnt get them all but we should be able to get them at a latter date as they had low stocks. no blood transfusion or birthday ones so no big deal,

last week Alex's school had their Book-fair so here is Alex as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

now we are on 3 monthly dr Visits and scans and the next one is another Ultrasound and X-Ray so less radiation for Alex. the Dr is very happy with her so I am Happy and really wanting to grab this and enjoy everything we have.

Camp Quality day out

Sunday the 15th of May we went to the circus thanks to Camp Quality giving families tickets, the Lions club put the circus on and a lot was for Flood Victims. this time is was a great day out and I took Hubby too :) I took the video camera this time to tape plus a fully charged camera for Photo's plus having Daddy makes getting drinks etc easier ♥ the girls both got a show bag from Camp Quality and this had small snacks, toy and drink as well. they both wanted a toy from the circus but we had no funds left til payday so they had to miss out :(. but they did get to enjoy the jumpy castle and ball pit :)

the girls are well we still have 2 weeks appropriately til next scan so we really enjoyed this time out.

Alex went back to school on the 27th April and loves school, they have moved her class back to the prep/ grade 1 room she was in last year for Prep as the school has lost 40+ students they had to let go of the prep teacher so they will be a combined class like most are at the school. Alex is doing well at school even with her small issues.

the cooler weather is also creeping in too so have been enjoying long pants hehe we get cold here but really only have a couple of weeks where it can go below 0 ( no snow etc no such luck for us to see that, but would be a dream come true ♥ ) the days are beautiful though sunny and around 20+ so you can get out and have fun without the added heat, this time last year we went to the beach for Alex's wish week and was swimming A LOT

Saturday the 14th we were supose to go to the Kite fest but due to low funds we could not go to that and the circus so circus it was, instead I took the girls to our local park and we met some school friends there as a surprise. was a little shaken when one young Lady said her mummy shaved her head like I did Alex so I had to explain she lost her hair to Chemo. then another pipes up quiet loudly that Alex had Cancer kids are funny but they have seen Alex since she had no hair til now so I moved on. we also met up with the school Chaplin Paster Francis.
when we got home the girls helped me wash the car  the had a ball doing it too.

this last week Alex has had a rash on her face at first it was thought to be Hand, Foot and mouth or similar turns out its a reaction to cold and maybe her toothpaste so we are trying to go back to the baby tooth paste for now and see if it stays away here is a photo you can see the chin rash :( and the sores that's are still slowly healing ♥ the dresses we got for the book fair school is having on the 25th May as Alex is growing out of her costumes we thought it nice to get a new one :)
Alex loves Sleeping Beauty and Robyn chose Snow White but once home wanted the same as Alex (off cause lol) but she is happy to have her own now ♥♥♥

I was suppose to post this on monday but we have had a long week with no internet access and plus I had a health scare with chest pains but now need to get help with my depression etc, we are good and need to just keep enjoying what we have,

Mothers day weekend

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mummies and Grand Mummies out there, it is mothers day here in Australia the 8th May 2011. the second Sunday of the month.

I would like to also say, hope those that are mums to Angels or still not mum's but would love a child hope you to have a great day as this is special for you all ♥♥♥

Saturday the 7th  was Hubbies Birthday to so we always try do a family thing on this weekend but as we are off to the circus next weekend we  just stayed home and play games and have fun together.we had Church on Saturday to look forward to but on Saturday morning Alex had head lice so I had to deal with that and we stayed home to deal with this, was something we did not look forward to as she had none Friday morning :-/  . Daddy got 3 books for his birthday and is set to retire into solitude to try read them, as if he will get any space as both girls love it when he is home. the girls made Daddy cards plus they made grandma some too for mothers day and her Birthday next week ♥  both girls went crazy on Saturday to and screamed the house down more than once, but by dinner time they had relaxed and played nicely and giggled

but I must congratulate him he has decided to give up smoking and this is week 2 almost finished  he is getting medical help as stress is still high for us, we have been told PTSD but I also know I have delayed greif for all I have been through  and I still have my princess to cuddle ♥♥♥

Alex is doing well but we are seeing signs of another absus starting to show on her gum this is an issue but her teeth are fine she is very good at cleaning so hope it will pass and not materialise but if I see it show up Ill be in the Dr's clinic for Anti-biotics to stop infection again and hope no teeth pulled this time,

Alex had her school Photo's done on Thursday I tried a concealer to hide some sores that are still on her face but it did lighten them just not hide them :(   they are just not healing like when she was under going treatment but she is healthy now so no idea why :(  I know the photographer will possibly tweak the photos but as I do not know him Ill do this for my peace of mind.

Sunday  "Mothers Day" was a good day girls both made something small for me and hid them til the morning and surprised me in bed ♥. Last year I got Alex's while we were on Make-a-wish week and OMG did I blubber  it was still raw how close we could have been to losing Alex that I just wanted to hold the gift tight and hide, it now is on my fridge with Pride ♥♥♥
This year I got a $50 gift card from Alex (she won it with Daddies help from our local shopping centre) a hoody bath robe and PJ's with Monkeys on it from everyone, a butterfly hanging from Alex and a wooden craft hanging from Robyn, plus hand make cards to go with them ♥ both girls used the words on the fridge to write "Happy Mother's Day" as well.

they also bought me in toast into bed ♥ so nice
