Counting our Blessings

today we have seen a lot of rain and enjoyed the girls first week at school.Alex loves school and both girls and having a good time.

I am counting our blessings one day at a time, as we are now over 2 years since Alex finished her chemo treatment and has had stable scans since, I would love to say we are over it and never have to deal with it again, but we are doing great, I think this will always be in the back of my mind at scan time etc but for now I see us at 25 months since we finished chemo and almost 3 years since we first heard that our princess had Cancer, I am blessed to know it should not return now we have hit the 2 year mark and I hold this tight as we have hit the first stepping stone to remission at 5 years the next is 3 years then that 5th year. I love watching the girls play together and so thankful to see them both so healthy, no one knows what it is like to watch your child go through this treatment other than another Cancer family, not being able to do anything but be there for love and support, I would have swapped shoes with her in a milli second if it was possible. but she is one very strong young lady and still says she will be a children's Doctor when she grows up ( even Robyn now wants to be a Doctor to help people)

remember enjoy every moment tomorrow is unknown and anything could happen ( hope its all good for everyone and us ♥)  children grow up and people get Cancer we need a cure and one day children ( and adults) will no longer have to endure the strong treatments that at the moment save many cancer patience lives but we still lose so many ♥ to this disease 700 children here in Australia a year get diagnosed and 3 children a week lose this battle this is not good  one day I hope to see even better statistics for this battle and see many more like us enjoying the life after the battle ( even with the stress of knowing what can still happen)

plus Today is a special Day for My Baby Girl Robyn it is her first Day at School too she starts Prep :o Alex is also going back to school and in Grade 2 this year ♥

23rd Jan 2007, I had to wait to see my baby girl she wanted out but I was under a general for the C-sec, but she got to meet her Big sister Alex and Daddy while I was in Recovery

was almost tears from Mummy seeing her big baby girl walk off to class like she had been doing it all the time but the thing is she has had days at school last year so knows her teacher and many students so she will be fine I am at a Loss lol

a weekend of fun and happiness

wow I can not believe we are here already this weekend was a big one starting with wet and Wild thanks to tickets from Camp Quality, we have never been before so this was great to go and enjoy something new, I defiantly have 2 water rats in my girls we also had the BBQ with Camp Quality so that was nice to not stress about food etc,

we all went in our swimmers and had a ball getting wet and wrinkly lol, Photos below :-) ↓

tomorrow we may go to the park with the girls and their bikes now Alex has no training wheels we do not get peace about her wanting to go outside and even in the rain on Friday :/

Alex has some bruises on her leg thanks to the few falls she had on her bike but she will not let up til she is outside enjoying her new found skills :)

a great catch up with friends

 On Sunday  I had a friend I have known for about 6+ years arrive in QLD for a holiday with her son and mum so we finally got to meet face to face hehe they come over with their caravan for Dinner they had booked into the caravan park at Ipswich for 2 nights but they had issues and could not get in that first Night and stayed in our Driveway ( we have a big front yard :) ) was good to be able to help out friends in need,
they left on Monday morning to go to the caravan park but the park lost ( gave their spot away) so they ended up staying with us both nights, this was great as we actually got to catch up with all the rain we got those 2 days and Alex and Robyn enjoyed playing with my friends son who is around the same age, Alex also took her training wheels of her bike and now is riding without them :)

we are all ready for school on Monday can not believe school starts next week, we are also enjoying the summer weather til it gets to hot like last week we hit 40.6 :/  girls love riding their bikes out front and it is great to be outside so much instead of in here watching TV or playing games think I need a bike now :)

Friday the 13th  the girls restarted Swimming lessons for 2012,

 was glad to see girls classes next to each other so even when I go alone I can watch both girls and they both have improved so much yes I am a proud Mummy lol
